The bracket is set, and UCLA leads the field as the No. 1 overall seed.

The Bruins got the kind of draw a top seed should get. Several other hosts were not so lucky. Arkansas is headed to Lawrence. Tennessee landed in Chapel Hill. Oregon gets Oregon State. Texas A&M's SEC Tournament stumble now comes with USC arriving in College Station.

Here is a regional-by-regional look at the 16 host sites, who is headed where, and what stands out.

Los Angeles Regional

Teams: No. 1 UCLA, Virginia Tech, Cal Poly, Saint Mary's

UCLA earned the No. 1 overall seed and got a fair draw to match. Virginia Tech is capable, and Cal Poly had a strong year, but this is the kind of regional the top team in the country should expect to control. The Bruins have been the sport's most consistent team, and this path reflects that.

Morgantown Regional

Teams: No. 16 West Virginia, Wake Forest, Kentucky, Binghamton

This is a tough reward for the final national seed. Kentucky is scrappy and has a real arm in Jaxon Jelkin, while Wake Forest remains dangerous even after an early ACC Tournament exit. West Virginia is hosting, but this regional feels wide open. For a No. 16 national seed, the Mountaineers drew plenty of trouble.

Hattiesburg Regional

Teams: No. 9 Southern Miss, Virginia, Jacksonville State, Little Rock

Southern Miss got a fairly reasonable draw, but it is not empty. Jacksonville State has pulled off upsets this year, and Virginia is still a solid, postseason-tested program even without Brian O'Connor. Hattiesburg should be loud, and the Golden Eagles should like their chances, but this is not a free pass.

Gainesville Regional

Teams: No. 8 Florida, Miami, Troy, Rider

Florida landed the final top-eight seed and got a solid draw. Miami makes the 2-seed line interesting, and Troy has enough Sun Belt punch to be annoying, but this is a regional Florida should feel good about. The Gators avoided some of the more dangerous two-seed landmines.

Chapel Hill Regional

Teams: No. 5 North Carolina, Tennessee, East Carolina, VCU

North Carolina did not get much of a gift for being the No. 5 national seed. Tennessee is a tough two-seed, and East Carolina always seems to play well this time of year. UNC is still the favorite, but this is one of the more dangerous regionals on the board.

College Station Regional

Teams: No. 12 Texas A&M, USC, Texas State, Lamar

Texas A&M's quick SEC Tournament exit may come back to haunt the Aggies. A win or two in Hoover could have kept them in the top-eight conversation. Instead, USC comes to College Station with a lot of wins and Mason Edwards, one of the best arms in the country. That is a tough break for A&M.

Lincoln Regional

Teams: No. 13 Nebraska, Ole Miss, Arizona State, South Dakota State

Nebraska has a tough assignment. Ole Miss brings a solid weekend rotation and enough bats to make noise, while Arizona State has serious power led by Landon Hairston. This is not an easy regional for a No. 13 national seed, and the Huskers will have to earn it.

Auburn Regional

Teams: No. 4 Auburn, UCF, NC State, Milwaukee

NC State has looked decent at times, and UCF is not a free pass, but this feels like a regional Auburn can get through. The Tigers earned the No. 4 national seed and should have the depth to control the weekend. Compared with some other hosts, Auburn should be happy with its draw.

Atlanta Regional

Teams: No. 2 Georgia Tech, Oklahoma, The Citadel, UIC

Georgia Tech enters as the No. 2 national seed after winning the ACC Tournament. Oklahoma has been hot and cold after a fast start and feels like a bit of a disappointment relative to early expectations. This is a regional Georgia Tech should be able to win if it plays to its standard.

Lawrence Regional

Teams: No. 15 Kansas, Arkansas, Missouri State, Northeastern

Kansas won the Big 12 and earned the right to host, then drew Arkansas. That is a brutal break. The Razorbacks were red hot in Hoover and only ran into the buzzsaw that is Georgia in the SEC title game. Kansas should not be scared, but this is a bad draw. There is a clear parallel between Lawrence and Morgantown, with both hosts drawing hot-and-cold SEC teams, but Arkansas is much hotter than Kentucky right now.

Tallahassee Regional

Teams: No. 10 Florida State, Coastal Carolina, Northern Illinois, St. John's

Coastal Carolina coming to town makes this one interesting. The Chanticleers are always a tough postseason out, even if they are not at full strength on the mound. Florida State is the favorite, but Coastal gives the regional some real edge.

Tuscaloosa Regional

Teams: No. 7 Alabama, Oklahoma State, USC Upstate, Alabama State

Oklahoma State has looked good at times, and USC Upstate adds some intrigue, but Alabama should like this draw. The Tide held onto a top-eight seed and have a realistic path through Tuscaloosa. This is one of the more manageable regionals among the top-eight hosts.

Austin Regional

Teams: No. 6 Texas, UC Santa Barbara, Tarleton State, Holy Cross

Texas gets an interesting draw. Tarleton State beat the Longhorns in the midweek, so there could be a little revenge angle if they meet. The bigger issue is UC Santa Barbara and ace Jackson Flora, who has been one of the best pitchers in the country. If Texas ends up seeing Flora, this regional gets much tougher.

Eugene Regional

Teams: No. 11 Oregon, Oregon State, Washington State, Yale

Oregon hosting Oregon State is simply fun. The Beavers are a very tough two-seed, and the regional gets a real rivalry feel because of it. Washington State and Yale round it out, but the headline is obvious: Oregon and Oregon State in Eugene.

Starkville Regional

Teams: No. 14 Mississippi State, Cincinnati, Louisiana, Lipscomb

The matchup to watch here is Mississippi State and Louisiana. The Ragin' Cajuns have been hot at times and have enough offense to make things uncomfortable, led by Teague Davis, the nation's home run leader. Starkville gives Mississippi State a major edge, but Louisiana is not a pushover.

Athens Regional

Teams: No. 3 Georgia, Boston College, Liberty, LIU

Georgia is the buzzsaw. The Bulldogs won the SEC regular season, won the SEC Tournament, and enter the NCAA Tournament with as much momentum as anyone. Boston College is a decent ACC team, and Liberty has had a strong year, but this regional still runs through Georgia.

Final Thought

The committee gave UCLA a clean No. 1 overall path, rewarded Georgia Tech and Georgia for conference tournament titles, and made life uncomfortable for several hosts in the back half of the national seed line.

Kansas drawing Arkansas is brutal. West Virginia getting Kentucky and Wake Forest is no picnic. North Carolina's draw is tough for a No. 5 seed. Texas A&M missing the top-eight line now feels costly.

That is Selection Monday. The resumes are done. The matchups are here. Now the bracket gets to prove who was seeded correctly.
